You must be at least 18 years old, weigh at least 55 kg, and be in good general health. Bring a valid photo ID (Aadhaar, driving licence, or passport). Our medical staff will conduct a brief screening before donation.

The actual blood collection takes about 8–10 minutes. The entire process — including registration, screening, donation, and post-donation refreshments — takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Yes. We use sterile, single-use disposable equipment for every donor. No needle or bag is ever reused. Our trained medical staff monitors you throughout the process. The volume drawn (350–450 mL) is well within safe limits and your body replenishes it within 24–48 hours.

For whole blood donation, men can donate every 3 months and women every 4 months. Apheresis (platelet) donors can donate more frequently — up to twice per week — since only a specific component is collected and the rest is returned to your body.

Apheresis is a specialized procedure where only a specific blood component (like platelets) is collected using an apheresis machine. Blood is circulated through a sterile disposable kit, the target component is separated, and the remaining blood is returned to you. The procedure takes 1–2 hours, requires the donor to weigh at least 55 kg, and less than 200 mL of blood is outside your body at any time.

Drink plenty of water, eat a healthy meal (avoid fatty foods), and get a good night's sleep. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before donation. If you're on any medication, inform our staff during screening.

You should wait 12 months after getting a tattoo or body piercing before donating blood, as per Indian blood-donor selection guidelines. The final decision is made by our medical officer at the time of screening.

Global Care Blood Centre is a non-profit NGO. We provide blood and components at processing cost to patients. Donation itself is always voluntary — we never pay donors and never charge donors.
